Our client is a multi national Legal 500 who are looking for an experienced Legal Executives in Personal Injury and Industrial Disease. The work will be dealing with serious injuries sustained mainly as a result of Employers Negligence, road traffic accidents and industrial disease (asbestos-related). The work is exclusively claimant-based.
Responsibilities
The position will involve support across the whole department in all areas of work. You will be liaising with clients and handling matters with appropriate sensitivity, witness interviewing and investigation, attending case conferences with counsel and expert witnesses, writing case reports as well as day-to-day correspondence, document control - maintaining accurate records and files, thorough preparation of documentation/cases to trial, evidence gathering and undertaking research to assist team and Partner
Skills
Previous experience in Personal Injury with particular focus in asbestos related industrial disease claims is essential although strong PI candidates will be considered if you can demonstrate the ability to handle an asbestos related PI caseload. Proven strong academics and/or proven relevant medical background. Experience of case working in a personal injury department. Strong interpersonal skills - confidence in dealing with people at all levels and with appropriate sensitivity. Able to assimilate large quantities of information and identify priorities. Strong interviewing skills - able to collect necessary information from witnesses, through probing questions and further investigation. Ability to work under pressure; comfortable making decisions alone, but with common sense to know when assistance/guidance is required. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a real commitment to and empathy with the cause of the client.
