Strategy Consultant required by tier 1 bank to work in their global strategy team. The strategy consultant will work within a strategy office that acts as a strategic consultancy / business partner to the bank. The role of strategy consultant will directly support the CIO and play an integral role in driving IT strategy forward, working in partnership with the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join one of the most dynamic teams in the finance industry which offers clear progression paths to Director level and beyond!
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategy consultant roles and responsibilities will be as follows:
Build strong client relationships with senior IT Managers
Provide strategic advice, consultation and project planning services to support IT managements most significant challenges
Be able to analyse complex problems / situations and to propose viable, fact based solutions
Provide remeditation and turnaround support where required
Run analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and contribute to engagements in areas such as:
oOperating model and organisation
oBusiness and IT Strategic alignment
oAnalysis and decision support (business cases, make vs buy, portfolio review, strategy review)
oProductivity improvement and IT Governance
Good understanding of Investment Banking and/or Private Banking products, services and/or operations
Be adaptive, work with the business and in all areas of the technology organisation, being able to quickly shape work, learn new specific skills and to deliver high-quality results at speed
Be able to act as a sole practitioner, and to operate in diverse teams of varying sizes and degrees of seniority and ability
Knowledge leadership, to ensure the Technology Group is abreast of relevant market developments
Skills and Attributes Required:
The candidate must have:
A banking or consultancy background (5 years experience) and a strong understanding of applicable consulting methodology and/or program management in the banking arena
A proven track record of successfully supporting large complex programs within a banking environment (5 years experience) with a significant bias to consulting / strategic work
Proven organisational, leadership and consulting skills
oAbility to communicate effectively to senior managers
oAbility to produce clear, concise reporting
Exceptional strategic analysis, problem solving, issue resolution and decision making skills
Exceptional presentation development skills
Proven ability to build long lasting client relationships with IT and business leaders
Ability to coach and develop consulting and client partners
