My client is a Tier 1 Investment Bank who are looking to build out their team in Bournemouth they seek an Oracle DBA to work within a specific database team in providing production support. The current team are using complex and elite technologies in regards to databases and also builds out new infrastructure.
Within this position the main responsibilities will involve troubleshooting and incident resolution, Oracle performance tuning, Database maintenance tuning, upgrades and database builds and database design guidance and advice. The candidate to fill this role will be an experienced DBA, providing support for Production/UAT/Development databases, working closely with the development teams and have experience with database monitoring tools sets.
The ideal candidate will also have the following: -
&bull Relevant experience working as a Oracle Database Administrator
&bull Strong skills in database performance, monitoring tools and tuning procedures
&bull Solid Database Management skills, including backup and recovery procedures
&bull Skills in productivity factors and ability to understand impact of problem on overall database performance
&bull Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes
&bull Strong skills in maintenance tools and procedures.
&bull Solid skills in UNIX shell scripting, Perl scripting and /or any other programming language desirable.
&bull Sybase, MS SQL Server and any other relational database experience.
