Role Profile: Main Interfaces Internally – Projects Interface between RDDL,
Manufacturing, CAD and Project Delivery. Integrating DfMA on to projects.
Externally – Interfaces with client bodies or their representatives; design consultants;
planning and building control authorities; specialist contractors, suppliers and manufacturers that provide system, component or manufacturing design; other key stakeholders to our projects.
 
Purpose of Post (why does the job exist?):
·        To lead development and delivery of DfMA design and engineering solutions for
projects
·        Development of DfMA solutions
·        Manage interface manufacturing and Development & Design leaders to understand capability and exploit
·        Support technical delivery of solutions
 
Main Accountabilities:
·        Support the group strategic DfMA agenda
·        Develop project DfMA and installation strategies with DDL, RDDL, Manufacturing
·        Develop DfMA schemes which support efficient and effective commissioning
·        Accountable for design quality from a complete technical design through to ‘as built’ design
·        Design function interface between the supply chain, procurement and project teams, ensuring design compliance and managing any necessary redesign through DDL’s⁄RDDL’s
·        Work with Manufacturing providing data for production forecasting
·        Project design management interface between DDL’s, RDDL’s, Manufacturing team, CAD department and project consultants
·        Coordination of technical design information delivery – enabling compliance and coordination across trades and between design consultants and trades
·        Work collaboratively with the project Planner and commissioning managers to ensure design information to construct is available to suit delivery programme
·        Manage the delivery of engineering and design information & its coordination to the manufacturing and assembly programme
·        Manage the technical and regulatory approvals process with respect to design information, procurement, delivery and client team protocols
·        Solve installation delivery issues associated with design information
·        Capture all design variations for DM⁄RDDL sign off
·        Support commissioning process
·        Mentor reports

·        Off–site capability for M&E All projects that our client are bidding and delivering
·        Headcount – as per allocation within Development and Design function
