Role ⁄ Responsibilities:
Develop winning scheme designs by stimulating and challenging professional design teams on allocated projects
Development and design leadership – technical input for allocated projects – delivery of effective design on all allocated projects up to technical scheme design ⁄ financial close, including design delivery management of technical design information to time, budget and quality
Support successful embedding of BIM, cost planning at tender launch
Manage consultant design team outputs to ensure all scoped deliverables are complete and timely and in accordance with agreed delivery strategy
Create an effective integrated design team through collaboration strategies (tools, process and behaviours) to design to cost and time
Provide technical support for projects EDM and CAD Team Leaders
Lead design reviews on projects – scheme design, (stage C, D, E etc) and comment against agreed deliverables and DfMA strategy
Development & design leadership at early stages to frame DFMA strategy and design approach on allocated projects
Challenging projects on 70⁄60⁄30⁄>0, cost, programme, design approach
Providing robust advice to projects in early stage consultant appointments
Produce a robust scheme design report clarifying design or risks associated with design (a statement defining risks ⁄ reasons for incomplete design – setting up the design to enable DM’s and engineering & design production teams to deliver designs in advance of site)
Work collaboratively with all disciplines but especially cost planning, commercial, procurement, BU CAD Leader and planning to ensure a total solution is achieved
