Purpose of Post
The successful candidate will undertake investigations into Housing and Council Tax Benefit Fraud and assist with other investigations undertaken by the Audit and Investigations Unit ensuring that all investigation work is completed to the highest possible professional standards
Person Specification
To have comprehensive and up to date knowledge of the principles of investigation PACE Theft Acts Social Security Acts Criminal Investigations Procedures Act and statutes concerning the range of offences committed by those perpetrating benefit fraud and rules of evidence
To have an understanding of Housing Benefit Council Tax Benefit and other welfare Benefits
Experience within a criminal investigation background Accredited Investigation qualification or Equivalent Qualification equivalent would be an advantage
A full current driving licence and be required to provide their own vehicle for non surveillance use
