An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join a thriving legal firm in the Derby area As a Legal assistant you will join the Dispute Resolution team in which your main responsibilities will be to provide legal advice and guidance with regard to commercial litigation matters
The role will involve dealing with fast track and small claims under supervision attending conferences court and meetings preparation witness evidence and instructions to counsel dealing with disclosure managing own deadline and adhering to policies and procedures
You will possess a law degree or equivalent and you must have knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and experience of handling a caseload of contested small claims and fast track claims instructing counsel and you must have an understanding of costs and issues
