My client, a Tier-1 investment bank, is looking to hire a senior Java developer to join their FX Algo team. This is an exciting fast paced role within one of the most technical environments within the city. They require a Java expert to work on their FX Algo trading platform. The successful candidate will join what will initially be a small team, and as such will play a vital and varied role.
Initially they will be building an entirely Greenfield, high-frequency trading system, and must be comfortable in the entire development lifecycle - working with quants, developing greenfield code and deploying live trading systems. They will have had a good, broad development and systems exposure, in addition to experience of working closely with a high-frequency trading desk. This is a desk based role, were the team operates like a prop trading outfit however has the stability offered by being associated with a major bank.
Essential requirements:
* Expert Java - excellent core understanding and low-level programming experience
* Experience of low-latency systems
* Performance profiling/optimisation
* Test-driven development
Desirable experience:
* Strong C
* Front office/trading, algorithmic trading experience preferably within FX
* Good knowledge of various asset classes
* UNIX system administration and shell scripting
* FIX, fast FIX decoders
