CTO within a Software Development Company
My client is an innovative, cloud-based backup, synchronisation and collaboration software development company at their start-up phase. They are rapidly growing and are looking for a CTO to replace the current member of staff.
The ideal candidate will be very entrepreneurial, will have worked in a fast paced environment, ideally for a start up and seen it through to IPO. Direct experience with a highly transactional online business is ideal. The candidate should have excellent excel skills and will ideally have previous used SQL for data.
The CTO will cover all aspects of the corporate financial affairs of the international business. It requires someone with a proven track record who flourishes in a fast-moving and highly entrepreneurial small-team environment. To succeed in this role, the candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to manage numerous key issues at once and respond rapidly to developing business challenges, working under tight deadlines and within resource constraints. Due to the successful track record and entrepreneurial nature of the business owner, this role presents an unparalleled opportunity for rapid career advancement across numerous venture-backed businesses.
To recap this is a small start-up (25ppl) looking for a CTO to come in and take control of the rapidly growing business and work in partnership with the founder to continue driving the company forward.
The development team consists of 8 developers and 4 in support. They are using lots of Open Source technology - very innovative! They are happy to use any technology that gets the work done efficiently and const effectively.
The ideal candidate will have:
Clear career progression
Experience managing development and operations teams
Must not be too far away from technology/architecture
Will understand operations (data centres, 24/7 support etc)
Must be able to fit in to a small, entrepreneurial start-up
