Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for a Senior Gas LNG Analyst to join our high profile client.Our client is the leading provider of advisory, analytical and forecasting services to the European Energy markets. Their platform of analysis allows them to take quantitative views of qualitative market developments and decision making. They are well known in the market even though they are a small size. Their customers are many major banks, producers and institutional across Europe.Their customers cover at least 80% of the market including most major banks, producers and utilities across North-West Europe. The analysis is based on proprietary dynamic price and fundamental models covering the global market ranging from in-depth field analysis in Russia to global LNG.The Gas Analyst will have responsibility for front line analysis across the core commodities (gas and power) with a strong understanding of the &ldquoinput&rdquo commodities (Oil, coal, CO2) as well as coordination of analysts. As a senior analyst you will market and to be able to filter the flow and price changes to extract the implications, highlighting areas for further analysis either by yourself or within the team. You will be confident to follow up on independent analysis and present and discuss these within the team. You will be the senior analyst in the team so will line manage junior analysts.Candidates MUST have experience of:
BSc / MSc from a Top Tier University4 &ndash 7 years experience in the energy marketsEnergy / Gas analysisBackground of either Utilities or BankingGas, Coal and Oil understandingExperience of physical and paper energyMacro and Micro Price Change Analysis and PredictionReport writing4 years&rsquo experience in energy forecastingExcel modeling skills and an ability to manipulate large data sets.
The ideal candidate will be from a bank or Energy Company / consultancy looking for a step up and more management responsibility. This role offers progression as well as deep hands on analysis.
