FUNKATHON PROJECT ASSISTANTS<br />

We have a number of positions available to join our 17-strong team as Free to Dance FUNKATHON projects assistants, enabling Free to Dance to reach out to a huge number of schools, colleges, universities, dance groups & organisations, clubs, charities, businesses and other groups, and helping to ensure a wide range of individuals and teams register to be part of the world record event in October. The position is 8+ flexible hours per week on a voluntary basis. It would ideally suit someone able to commit a number of hours per day, though by arrangement could fit into set days of the week. The position would be ideal for a student looking for skills and experience to boost their CV over the summer, someone seeking project management experience around an exciting event/campaign, or an individual looking to expand into the third/charitable sector. The successful candidate will become part of the Funkathon sub-team, line-managed by Ben.<br />

Free to Dance team volunteers work flexibly across the capital – either at our LearnBurma address, at home or at a number of public access venues, and all meet together as a team once per week (Thursdays, 6.30-8.00pm). Volunteers are provided with a pay-monthly sim card and netbook to perform their duties, as appropriate / required.<br />

Key Responsibilities<br />

Co-ordinate a type of target organisation for the Free to Dance Funkathon (dance groups / nightclubs / events / universities / summer schools & clubs, businesses), by:<br />
<br />
• Publicising the Funkathon to your targets<br />
• Booking visits for Ben to dance with your targets<br />
• Liaising with lead contacts from your targets<br />
• Accompany Ben on relevant visits to your targets, where appropriate, helping to record footage and take photos<br />
• Upload footage and relevant content to relevant online channels, creating profiles for each of your target organisations<br />
• Use twitter, facebook etc to publicise how your targets are involved<br />
• Follow up Ben’s visits to your targets, getting their involvement in the world record, for example<br />
• Work with the relevant members of the Free to Dance team Managing and delegating appropriate responsibilities to Saricka and other volunteers; creating systems and processes to manage all volunteers and staff for the event<br />
• Helping to recruit additional volunteers to support your work
